Creating a Safe Prenatal Practice in Open Level Classes for students and teachers

The combination of stretching and strengthening exercises with breathing and relaxation techniques in the yoga practice are the perfect preparation for the physical demands of pregnancy and labor. At Kula we believe that a strong yoga practice is a wonderful compliment to a healthy pregnancy. And we love prenatal classes, and the community they foster, but we also know that many yogis want to be able to participate in ‘regular’ classes.
This workshop will give you the tools needed to modify your practice in open and int/adv level classes throughout your pregnancy, or for new yoga teachers, wanting to understand what to do when a pregnant lady walks into their open level class: What to avoid, how to modify different kinds of postures, and what to do in place of asanas that are not working for the student. We will also go over some alternatives for sun salutations, some breathing techniques and pelvic floor exercises that are great throughout pregnancy. Questions are welcome.

Chakra Healing Yoga workshop
Learn how to balance your charkas through asana,
pranyama, chanting, stone Healing and meditation.
The word chakra is Sanskrit for wheel or disk and signifies one of seven basic energy centers in the body that correspond to nerve ganglia branching out from the spinal column, as well as states of consciousness, developmental stages of life, archetypal elements, body functions, colors, sounds, and much, much more. Together they form a profound formula for wholeness and a template for transformation.
In this two-day Chakra workshop we will focus on all 7-chakra energy centers. We will discuss the energies of each chakra and the effects we experience when they are balanced and imbalanced.
You will come to understand how different yoga poses open and balance the individual chakras. You will also learn what the symbolic significance of each chakra is, and how this relates to your emotional and mental experiences in the world.
This is a special chance for you to connect to a much deeper and profound knowledge of how yoga works on an energetic and spiritual level. Learn how to balance the archetypal elements of earth, water, fire, air, sound, light and thought, as you wiggle your way up the spine and across the Rainbow Bridge.
