PREGNANCY & YOGA with Amanda Zapanta

Creating a Safe Prenatal Practice in Open Level Classes for students and teachers

Sunday October 24th 4.15pm - 6.15pm

$35 for workshop

The combination of stretching and strengthening exercises with breathing and relaxation techniques in the yoga practice are the perfect preparation for the physical demands of pregnancy and labor.  At Kula we believe that a strong yoga practice is a wonderful compliment to a healthy pregnancy.  And we love prenatal classes, and the community they foster, but we also know that many yogis want to be able to participate in ‘regular’ classes.

This workshop will give you the tools needed to modify your practice in open and int/adv level classes throughout your pregnancy, or for new yoga teachers, wanting to understand what to do when a pregnant lady walks into their open level class: What to avoid, how to modify different kinds of postures, and what to do in place of asanas that are not working for the student.  We will also go over some alternatives for sun salutations, some breathing techniques and pelvic floor exercises that are great throughout pregnancy.  Questions are welcome!!
